22 Golds and Counting

The 22nd Gold is awarded to Team GB as they overtake their Beijing record, we can see why they believe that at London they have their #GreatestTeam. It's been a huge success at the games from the likes of the opening ceremony to the first gold medal it's been our experience to cherish. I for one was sceptical when it was announced that we were hosting such a prestigious event especially at such short notice but everything has fallen into place magnificently.

Whether be from Shooting, Rowing, Cyling, Athletics, Judo or Swimming or any sport in which a medal has been won , The British public has taken to each athlete like a duck to water, it's as simple as that. Whether it's beach volleyball or gymnastics there's plenty of entertainment for all.

I can speak on behalf of everyone that we are proud of each athlete that takes the stage, To be at the top of your sport in the country is great without the added pressure of a home crowd up until now. Athletes began to buckle under the pressure at the start but as soon as they won their first, it seemed they just flocked straight into the medal table. As a Welshman I have never been so proud to be British even the athletes not on top of the podium have done us so well. There is no doubt that there's a feel good factor around Britain right now and long may it continue.

With the London 2012 Olympics slowly coming to it's latter stages I as countless others are looking forward to Rio in Brazil in 2014, It could not have been any more of a success. The likes of Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton and many more of the old guard will be missed but with this new era of the golden generation there are so many optimistic reasons to look forward. With a finish of 3rd expected in the medal table it feels like we are in a dreamland.
