Can Arsenal follow United

It's going to be a tough ask for the Gunners tonight, the odds are going to be stacked against them, although previous experience dictates that it's not unbelievable that the odds could be thrown out the window. Look at Barcelona and AC Milan for previous statements. Arsenal going forward are a much better side that going back, Cazorla, Wilshire, Walcott, Podolski and Giroud offer a more sustained force than those in charge of defending the Emirates goal line. There is no shortage of talent but the problem lies their lack of a leader or leaders in plural. There isn't a Viera, Cambell, Henry it's a young squad with potential rather than an established coup of players.

With a suspected backline of Sagna,Vermaelen,Mertesacker and Gibbs there isn't someone who can really galvanise the troops and grab the game by the scruff of its neck. Tonight is a big game for Vermaelen due to the fact he needs to act like the leader he's destined to be. With the German juggernaut in Buyern bringing a strikeforce including Gomez up too being supported by excelled wingers in Fraink Ribery and Arjen Robben it's going to be a long night if they don't concentrate, that's a given.

Another thing to worry about is that in Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez defending a back four including Alaba and Van Buyten supported by one of the best keepers in the world Manuel Neuer it's going to take a special night by Arsenal to stay In this tie. The key concept tonight is concentration and leadership which they will need in abundance to marshall the current German league leaders by 16 points and counting. Keep a clean sheet is vital due to the away goals bonus but they have to build a platform for the second leg so it needs to be tight but a goal needed.

Prediction: 1-1 Vermaelen and Gomez with the goals

Much appreciated
